I have not posted at this site for a long long time! I hope to show readers that it is possible to make money online through various methods.

I have been using Google's Adsense program for over two years now and have already received 3 payouts thus far. If you hope to learn more about how I make money using Google's Adsense program, I encourage you to check out my site at MyDailyAdsenseEarnings.blogspot.com.

Another amazing thing about blogging is that because I have created many blogs at one go, the number of blogs that make money for me also start to increase slowly. As my blogs are interlinked to each other, people who visit one of my sites start to spill over to another of my site which might be in a totally unrelated niche to my original site.

The traffic increases and though the click through rate remains at the same level of around 1.5% for all the sites, the earnings slowly start to pour in.

I now earn an average of $1 to $2 per day from all my sites. The adsense earnings I get are also $30 to $60 per month now and I expect payouts from adsense every 2 to 3 months.

Making Money Online is Possible! I once thought it was a hoax but my own experiences show me that it is really possible even if one lacks all the computer know how.

Road to Making $60,000/yr Online

Currently, I have been able to make roughly around $240/year from online sources.

How shall I go about making $60,000 a year from online sources (e.g. Adsense). It is definitely not easy to make money online. Earning $60,000 a year translates to $5000/mth which in turn translates to $166.67 per day.

Based on my current earnings, I am getting approximately $0.20 per day for each active blog with more than 100 postings. That would mean that I will have to create a total of 833 blogs with 100 postings each.

This in turn translates to a total of 83300 postings.

Thus, to make serious money online, I will first have to create close to 1000 websites and blogs (each with around 100 postings).

Not an easy task I must say but if anyone is seriously considering making money online.

Living Off Dividends and Passive Income

This was the inspiration for me to explore the internet as a place for residual income.

The website "Living Off Dividends and Passive Income" really demonstrates how one guy was able to increase his dividends and passive income slowly through various sources.

If that guy can do it, surely I can do it. But I must admit, his Living Off Dividends and Passive Income site is really well designed. My current blog is nothing compared to his and in terms of content wise, is also sorely lacking. Perhaps I should explore into creating more content rich sites instead of just creating a wide variety of blogs.

One thing I remembered reading of his website was that it was foolish for someone who was trying to make money online to start a website about making money online. This is simply because those people who are making money online are the experts and it will be unwise to venture into such a field where the people are more knowledgeable in terms of search engine optimisation, keywords sniping, generating traffic, etc. Instead, to make money online, one should look at creating a website that one has interest in.

Of the various make money online blogs, I rate Living Off Dividends and Passive Income 4 stars out of 5.

Failure of 30 Blogs in 30 Days. Time to pursue a new strategy?

I have failed my goal of trying to create 30 blogs in 30 days. Maybe I overestimated the amount of time I had each day to create a new blog. Creating a new blog each day is very challenging indeed. And besides, it does not guarantee that I can make money online.

My daily adsense earnings have also revealed that I have not earned much from my blogging efforts under this Make Money Online Blog as well as my 30 Blogs in 30 days effort. I am not certain if there has been much traffic to any of these newer blogs that I have created too.

One thing to note though is that when I google "Daily Adsense Earnings", 2 of my blogs turn up. One on the first page and one on the 2nd. But even that is not giving me enough traffic to truly make money online.

Perhaps I am pursuing a wrong strategy...

It is only 4 days left to the end of 30 Blogs in 30 Days challenge which I gave myself.
Since then, I have only created 8 new blogs (albeit not of the highest quality both in terms of design and content).

Nevertheless, some of these blogs have begun to make money for me online.

One of these is the Travel Europe blog which I created in less than 1 hour!

So it does seem feasible to create blogs in a short time to earn money online with adsense alone.

Driving Traffic to Blog (Day 2)

This is the official Day 2 of the creation of this money making online blog. There were a total of 4 unique visitors today.

This is what I did today to drive traffic to this blog:

1. Included links in my other blogs to this blog
2. Submitted this blog to Technocrati, Delicious and Digg It
3. Posted genuine comments on other blogs.
4. Added Digg It to the Blog.
5. I also added meta tags to my blog and ran a meta tag analyser using submitexpress
6. I ran a ranking through Alexa Page Rank and found out that this blog is ranked 9 (small number is bad..). One of my better blogs was like 10,000+. Which wasn't spectacular.
7. Added the site into Yahoo Site Explorer and MSN Search Explorer.
8. Pinged blog directories using Pingomatic
9. Slowly going through the entire list of top 55 directories and submitting this blog.

The day's review: I need to learn how to drive traffic to this blog so that I can earn more money online!

After 10 hours building this blog on Day 2, I am finally going to call it a day. The number of absolute unique visitors to my site now stands at 5. Hopefully as I am sleeping, more traffic will be generated to this site through my day's work and start bringing in the much needed traffic to generate the page impressions and clicks to make this blog a success =).

The Key is the Keyword

In my previous posts, I highlighted that traffic is perhaps the most important component in making money online through Google's Adsense.

One of the ways for your website to show up in Google's search is for you to verify your website and add a site map of your website and submit it to Google for them to use their bots to crawl it.

In driving traffic to your blog, choosing keywords to put on your website is essential for it to show up in web search results.

One of the tools that I currently use is Google's Adwords Keyword Tool. In it, they show the number of searches for the various keywords.

For example: I key in the word Michael Phelps and got the following results:
For the keyword "Michael Phelps", one can expect to get 60,500 searches on Google. So if your website has a lot of keywords that involve Michael Phelps, don't expect to get more than 60,500 visits since you will be sharing the keyword with most probably another 1 million websites that feature Michael Phelps.

Compare this to Paris Hilton which got an amazing 6,000,000 Google searches. Of course I am not saying that you should write about her. Obama gets over 7,000,000 searches so it might not be a bad idea writing about this US Presidential candidate too! McCain turned up close to 2,000,000 searches but there were also 45.5 million google searches for John. So if google searches are anything to go by, the US presidential race is still wide open.

What is important is that you find a keyword or phrase that has a niche and with people searching for it. This will drive the necessary traffic to your site and help your website earn more money for you.

Basics of Making Money Online (Part 2)

This is the 2nd series on the basics of making money online.

In this entry, I will show you how to create a website with "content" and advertisements in less than 10 minutes! I will like to call this a 10 minute website creation. Of course, not much traffic might be directed to it but it is better than not doing anything.

Within Two Minutes:
First, get a domain name. In this example, I am using a free domain from blogger. Search for a domain name for the blog or website that is most related to the content that you are going to display. For this, I am going to choose a name that relates to bangkok news.

Keep trying various combinations of names till you get one that you have deemed suitable. The one that I managed to get is bangkokpostnews.blogspot.com

Within 7 minutes

Google for bangkok news or bangkok post. Get into the website and find the rss feeds. This will send feeds (news updates) to your website. In this case, to my bangkokpostnews.blogspot.com
What I do is just create feeds from the gadgets options in blogger and add the feeds all over my website.

Within 10 minutes

Place Google Adsense Ads all over your website.

There you have it! A 10 minute website that is up and running with no need for any money to host and with no need for any content to be written by you. Of course, it might not prove to be a very useful site but it is still a website with news that might be relevant to some readers who in this case might be interested news that is happening in thailand.

All you need to do now is to direct traffic to your blog. You can do this either through posting links to this newly created website on forums, telling your friends the url or creating links from your other websites to it.

There you have it! A simple 10 minute website created by you and that is ready to earn and make money for you online without any money involved. All you were required to do is have 10 minutes of internet connection with a blogger account and a google adsense account. Both of which only require some details from you and there you have it! Your first money making online website that is totally free of charge.

Here are other examples of 10 minute news websites that have been created. The traffic generated to these websites have not been phenomenal. Since two weeks of running it, they have only generated around 11 visits between them.

This is a website without any content at all. Just only with advertisements. Would you visit such a website? Of course, how much effort you put into a website will determine how much traffic is driven to your website.

Make Money Online By Working from Home

11 visits in 2 weeks for a 20 minute effort is not bad considering that these 2 sites will be up for months or even years. In 54 weeks (1 year), I can expect close to 300 visits. Imagine if just 1 percent click on any of those ads, I will be earning like close to 10 or 20 cents from Adsense per year just for a 20 minute effort. Multiply this by many more websites and the opportunities of making money online are almost unlimited!

Basics of Making Money Online (Part 1)

This is the first series of articles on the Basics of Making Money Online. To the internet uninitiated, there are a variety of ways that one can work from home and earn money online. The various avenues of making money online are paid surveys, advertising income and affiliate programs.

In this entry, I will run through what I believe are the basics of earning advertising income through an online website.

3 Key components of earning advertising income online are:

1. Website
2. Content
3. Traffic

Amongst these 3 components, the most crucial and important of all is traffic, traffic, traffic. Without sufficient traffic being directed to your website, it does not matter how beautiful and user-friendly your website is or how good the content is. A website without any traffic is useless in earning any money online. To make money from advertisers like Adsense, one's website would need a large number of visitors to provide the necessary page impressions and clicks on the advertisements for you to earn enough money.

A website can be easily created nowadays with free tools provided by Blogger, Wordpress or LiveJournal. For example, this current Make Money Online website is hosted by Blogger for free. To create your website or blogs, you just need to register a few details and you will get a unique url (http://nameofyourwebsite.blogspot.com) This is your first website!

Next will be to decide the content to put into the website. This is perhaps the easiest and yet most tricky part. What you decide to put on your website could affect the amount of traffic being directed to your website and thus how much you earn. Content on the website can either be written by you or others. Place a few Adsense ads on your website and you are ready to make money online. The only missing component will be the traffic (visitors visiting your website).Of course, you can just place ads all over your website without any content but that will most probably not create much readership or recurrent visitors to your website.

Lastly, will be the traffic generation to your website. To get traffic generated to your website, there are basically a few ways. Firstly will be through links on other blogs or websites that provides a hyperlink to your website. Secondly, will be through search engines like Google or Yahoo that returns your website as part of somebody's search query. Thirdly, will be through people typing directly your URL to get to your website. Without the traffic coming to your website, you will never be able to make any money online. This is because advertisers usually pay by the number of clicks on the advertisements on your website or by page impressions.

So there you have it, the 3 steps that will get anyone ready to making some money online while working from home. But remember:

The most important of all is traffic. Without traffic, it will hardly be possible to make money online using your website.

Is it possible to work from home and make money online? According to various other make money online websites, this is possible. They guarantee easy money from online advertisements, affiliate programs or paid surveys. Too many of these websites are however done by professionals who have already been doing online businesses for a long time and thus fail to properly teach others how to truly make money online.

The purpose of this Make Money Online blog is threefold:

Firstly, it charts the journey of a beginner who has no experience whatsoever in making any money online. In this journey, I will attempt to follow the various money making tips that various websites provide and find out what works and what doesn't for making money online.
